To verify this information, please look up official details with the City of Detroit.
Picture is of 3820, 3834 is the one on the left (3 story corner building). Potentially a corner Internet cafe / office space?
Jason - what makes you say that? Most other sources I can pull from (google maps, bing, mapquest, this site, and the pay-to-research Detroit city website) show this as the building pictured, not the corner unit.
Zoom in on Google maps for this building, it says 3820. I actually went and visited the corner building today and on the door you can see the faded numbers 3834.
Here is a picture I took earlier of a close up of the building shown: 3820.
Jason is right I went and looked myself and these map sites don't away drop u in front of the right building/house all the time
I would advise anyone interested in bidding to verify this info at Wayne County. It appears that the corner building is a match, and I googled a commercial listing showing the corner building at that address. A much better appearing structure than this turd that is likely destined for the wrecking ball, which would add value to the adjacent structures.
3820 Is not a real address . If you own a large commercial building , you can put multiple addresses on it , it doesn't legally split the parcel. Its simply for the purposes of tenants. Lets say the building has 3 tenants , each would have their own mailing address. The only address for the building is 3834 . The building is 3900 sq ft. The lot is 15594 sq ft . It was sold at the 2008 Auction for $5000 . They never paid the taxes and never did anything with it.
Citibank is correct. Look at this parcel survey map from DataDriven Detroit to confirm that 3834 is the middle building on the block.

Ok well shucks, that is disappointing news. Thanks Tom for the survey map link!
i see i wish thomas was wrong lol but the map proves the differ
That corner building would be awesome, but the warehouse isn't so great. You can see a huge hole in the roof on the satellite. Glad to have the extra info.
The building on the corner was a window company and its currently owned by Mel Washington. Sometimes the postal address is not the legal address and this is the case here. This is the correct building pictured. If you are bidding on it please talk to me because I have been using it. Thanks much
Hey jeanofarc, I think even with the hole in the roof - I am going to be bidding on this.
Jason its not just a hole; the center section of the roof is coming down. The old wall truss built to keep it up is rotting and loosing the battle to gravity from the roof.
I just have some junk and materials stored in there only of value to an artist like me so if there is a bidder I'm sure it will end up in a dumpster soon. I'm planning on moving it to the building I'm buying; but not bidding on this one either--too large and too much work for me.
For anyone possibly interested; its a lot of space in a pretty good location and solid other than the area of the roof coming down, which is fixable.
Hey Jean thanks for the info! If you have time, do you think you could show me the inside sometime this week? I work nearby, maybe I could head over one evening (sometime after 5pm).
Jason - The door on the alley side is wide open. Bring a flashlight - it's dark.
If anyone in this forum gets this, congrats, really happy the space is going to be something positive. Please let me know you got it, by responding here if you don't have my contact info because I need to get my junk out of there for you. Thanks!
Cut throat bidding til the end, congrats to EFAP! As long as you have plans to fix it up, I am a happy loser! ;)
This went for considerably cheaper than I thought it would. I was expecting a $20K bidding war on it.
Does anyone know EAFP? I am the owner Advance Plumbing & Heating Supply Company at 2984 Grand River Ave and the ajacent building to this one at 3810 Grand River Ave.
@Jeffery Moss - Are you currently using the building at 3810 Grand River for anything? Would be interested in more detail on the building if you'd consider selling. May try to call you at Advance to discuss further if that's ok.
Christopher,
We are currently using and have been using this building for over 30 years as warehouse & storage for our main location at 2984 Grand River. We do not have any plans on selling this building but if you would like to discuss this my e-mail is jeff@advanceplumbing.com
I don't know who EAFP is nor has anyone secured it yet but I got my art stuff out of there in November.
